Stick to what you know

They are stripes, and they are on stairs – but you’re doing it wrong!  The freshness and vibrancy of these colours is something we are constantly seeking in our design studio.  We will of course be putting our stripes more ‘traditionally’ on top of the staircase – though this may inspire you if you are […]

Another Year Wiser

Its been a whole year since we said hello world… Here’s to another year of  bright stripes. Another year of Monochrome stripes. And another year of some things we just think you should see. Stairs & Stripes, it’s what we do.

Packed in Stripes

Markus Uran of Toronto-based Metsa Design has re-invented the paper bag with his up-cycled striped creation. We applaud the up-cycling, and functional good design, but but most importantly we like the soft uniform stripe colour-way.

On arrival head straight for new Japanese-Peruvian fusion restaurant “Patka” designed by El Equipo Creativo with it’s installation of Peruvian hand looms, threaded up and ready to go.

Pae White

Take 48 kilometres of yarn(!) a large gallery space and combine with American installation artist Pae White…  “Too Much Night, Again”

Concrete and Cord

While we at Roger Oates have a bit of a soft spot for this particular colour combination, should you decided on a cord strung bannister you can re-thread it as often as you like. We re-thread our looms almost every week – and can happily offer you some advice on the matter…

A Return to Monochrome

A Return to Monochrome

As is traditional here in our office, today marks our regular return to the drawing board, and to balanced crisp monochrome stripes. Our starting point for everything.
